Police have further charged a man with aggravated robbery after he allegedly stole a car at gunpoint at Mil-Lel on Thursday 10 November, according to SA Police.
Police will allege the man was in company with Victorian escapee Lachlan Mitchell when they were involved in a minor collision at the intersection of Sherwin Road and Attamurra Road at Mil-Lel in November. After the collision a third vehicle stopped to render assistance when the men approached the driver and threatened him with a firearm before stealing his grey Nissan Navara.
The Nissan Navara was later found abandoned in Trevorrow Street, Mount Gambier.
Investigations led police to a Hackham West home on Saturday 12 November where they arrested the 25-year-old man from Victoria for assisting Lachlan Mitchell avoid apprehension.
On Thursday 22 December Detectives from the Serious Crime Task Force further charged the 25-year-old from Victoria with aggravated robbery.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on 20 March 2017.
