Man charged with animal cruelty, malicious damage in Erskineville

A man has been arrested after he allegedly kicked a dog and damaged property in Sydney’s CBD, NSW Police say.

About 9.50am today, police were called to Mitchell Road, Erskineville, following reports that a man had kicked a dog and damaged property.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to speak to the man but his behaviour was allegedly erratic and aggressive.

Officers deployed a taser and the man was arrested.

The 33-year-old was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with cruelty to animals, malicious damage and resist arrest.

He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
