Man charged with arson in Capalaba, QLD

Detectives investigating an alleged suspicious fire at a Capalaba business last night have charged a man over the incident, Queensland Police say.

At about 9.24pm, officers were called to the Steel Street premises after reports of explosions and smoke coming from the business.

On arrival of emergency services, the building was observed to be well alight.

No one was injured during the fire.

A 36-year-old Alexandra Hills man is charged with one count each of arson and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man will appear in the in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 29.
