Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Auburn DV Case

A man has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a woman in Sydney's west.

About 11pm yesterday (Thursday 22 May 2025), police were called to Auburn Hospital after a 24-year-old woman was taken there with serious injuries.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended the hospital and commenced inquiries.

Police established a crime scene at a unit in Auburn.

Following further inquiries, a 23-year-old man – who is known to the woman - was arrested at Auburn Hospital.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with attempt to strangle / suffocate with intent to murder and wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 24 May 2025).

Police will allege in court the man allegedly assaulted the woman at the unit in Auburn between 6pm and 10pm last night (Thursday 22 May 2025).
