Two people have been charged following a pursuit in Macquarie Fields yesterday, NSW Police say.
Just after 4pm yesterday, police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were patrolling Melaleuca Drive, when they attempted to stop a Ford Focus for a random breath test.
When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated.
The driver of the Ford allegedly had a minor collision with another vehicle in Harold Street, before colliding with a police car a short time later in Henderson Road, Ingleburn.
No one was injured.
A 22-year-old man allegedly driving the car ran from the scene and was arrested in a nearby backyard.
A 22-year-old woman in the car was also arrested at the scene.
Both were taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and officers searched two properties at Woodbine and Ingleburn.
At the Ingleburn address, police seized ammunition and a small amount of drugs; as well as cash, jewellery and a mobile phone that were allegedly stolen when a home in Boobook Place, Ingleburn, was broken into the previous day (8 August 2017).
The man was subsequently charged with nine offences; including break, enter and steal, police pursuit (Skye’s Law), possess prohibited drug, possess ammunition, dispose stolen property, and numerous other traffic related offences.
He was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today.
The woman was charged with having goods in custody suspected of being stolen and was granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on 29 August 2017.
