Man charged with break, enter and steal in Wellington

A man will face court today after he was charged with break and enter in the State’s Central West, NSW Police say.

Between Monday 11 July 2016 and Sunday 17 July 2016, a home on Warne Street, Wellington, was broken into.

Three firearms including a Cooey single-barrel 12-gauge shot-gun, a Winchester.22 rifle and a Sureshot.22 rifle were stolen from the safe. Associated bolts/parts and a quantity of ammunition were also stolen.

Officers from Orana Local Are Command attended and commenced an investigation.

About 3pm yesterday police attended a home in Wellington and arrested a 27-year-old man.

He was taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with break enter and steal value less than $60,000. He was further charged with unrelated steal from motor vehicle, and goods in custody offences.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today.
