Man Charged With Child Abuse, Bestiality Material

A man will face court today facing charges relating to possession of child abuse and bestiality material.

In May 2026, Chifley Police District commenced an investigation into a 37-year-old man, after receiving information he had been in possession of child abuse material.

Following inquiries, about 7.10am on Wednesday (13 May 2026), investigators executed a search warrant at a property in West Bathurst, where they seized several telecommunication devices.

The next day, about 1.10pm (Thursday 14 May 2026), investigators arrested a 37-year-old man.

Police allege an extensive amount of child abuse and bestiality material was located on the devices.

The man was taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with possess child abuse material – T1, and possess animal sexual abuse material – SI.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Friday 15 May 2026).

Investigations continue.
