Detectives have charged a man with alleged child abuse material offences in the State's south.
In April 2026, officers attached to South Coast Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged uploading of child abuse material by a 44-year-old man in the Batemans Bay area.
Following extensive inquiries, about 6.40am today (Thursday 4 June 2026), detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Catalina.
During the search, police located and seized electronic devices.
The 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he was charged with:
- possess child abuse material,
- possess unauthorised pistol,
- possess prohibited drug
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 tomorrow, Friday 5 June 2026.
