Man charged with commercial drug supply after 54,000 MDMA pills seized in Darlinghurst

A man will face court today on drug supply charges after more than 50,000 MDMA tablets were seized during searches in Sydney yesterday. , NSW Police say

About 12.30pm yesterday, police stopped and spoke to a man on Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst.

Following a search of the man’s backpack, officers located 32,000 MDMA tablets.

The man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

A search warrant was later executed at a home unit on Crown Street, Darlinghurst, where officers seized 22,000 MDMA tablets, and various substances suspected to be prohibited drugs.

The 29-year-old Nepalese National was charged with three counts of large commercial drug supply and refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.

Further inquiries revealed the man’s student visa was expired, and Australian Border Force was notified.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to drug supply to call Crime Stoppers.
