Man charged with drink driving and speeding with five kids in car in Mascot

A man has been charged with high-range PCA and speeding after being stopped with a woman and five children in the car at Mascot last Friday, NSW Police say.

About 6.30pm (13 January 2017), police attached to Botany Bay Highway Patrol were performing stationary speed enforcement duties on Ricketty Street, when they detected a Ford Territory allegedly travelling at 97km/h in a 60km/h speed limit.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 43-year-old man was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station where he returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.150.

The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for high-range PCA and exceed speed limit over 30km/h.

He is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 1 February 2017.

A woman and five children under the age of 16 were in the car at the time.

Family and Community Services have been notified.
