Man charged with drug supply following crash, NSW

A man will appear in court today charged with drug supply following a crash on the state’s Mid North Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6.30am (Friday 3 August 2018), emergency services were called to the M1 at Nambucca Heads, following reports a Toyota Corolla had hit a safety barrier, blocking traffic.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District attended.

After speaking with the driver, officers allegedly located a fuel container filled with a clear liquid chemical. It was seized and will undergo further examination.

The driver and sole occupant, a 26-year-old man, was subject to a roadside breath test, returning a negative result.

He was arrested and taken to Macksville Hospital to undergo blood and urine testing.

Officers seized the vehicle and during a further search, allegedly located 500g of methamphetamine.

The man was taken to Macksville Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug - commercial quantity.

He was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today (Saturday 4 August 2018).
