Man charged with high-range drink driving in Tuncurry

Police have charged a man after he was allegedly caught driving with a blood alcohol level six times the legal limit in Tuncurry yesterday. , NSW Police say

About 2.10pm today, police received information about a white Mercedes van that was driving erratically on Manning Street, Tuncurry.

After receiving the call officers located the vehicle stopped on Manning Street and noticed the 47-year-old driver allegedly asleep at the steering wheel with the car still running.

Officers from Traffic & Highway Patrol Command attached to Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command submitted the driver to a roadside breath test that provided a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station where he submitted a breath analysis reading of 0.303, which is the high-range category.

He was charged with high-range PCA and will appear in Forster Local Court on Wednesday 4 October 2017.

His licence was suspended.
