A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after a single-vehicle crash in Stanmore this morning.
About 12.30am (Saturday 14 June 2025), a Kia Sportage was travelling along Stanmore Road, Stanmore, when it left the roadway and hit an electric pole.
Officers from Inner West Police Area Command were notified and attended.
The driver and only occupant – a 37-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.
The man was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, which returned an alleged reading of 0.157.
He was issued a court attendance notice for drive with high-range PCA and his NSW driver's licence was suspended.
The man will appear at Newtown Local Court on Monday 21 July 2025.
No one was injured during the incident.
