Man charged with Hobart crime spree and ram raid at jeweller, TAS

Hobart CIB detectives last night charged a 24-year-old Mornington man with the ram raid at Claudia Jewellers in Sandy Bay earlier this week, Tasmania Police say.

Police allege the man committed numerous crimes in the greater Hobart area between 29 May and 9 June including burglaries & stealing’s and motor vehicle stealing’s.

Police will allege that the man is one of two offenders responsible for the ram raid at Claudia Jewellers on Tuesday.  A police investigation is ongoing in relation to the second offender who has not yet been apprehended.

The man was detained in custody to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
