Man charged with multiple offences in Broadmeadow

A man will appear in court today, charged with driving and domestic related offences on the state’s north, NSW Police say.

About 1pm on Thursday 11 October 2018, officers from Newcastle City Police District attended a store on Lambton Road, Broadmeadow, following information a stolen motorcycle was seen on the premises.

While at the premises, a man was seen fleeing on foot, and officers have pursued.

A 26-year-old man was located in a garage on Russell Road, New Lambton, before being arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station.

He has been charged by police with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, use vehicle displaying misleading number plate, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

He was also charged in relation to alleged domestic violence offences and two outstanding arrest warrants.

He was refused bail and will appear before Newcastle Local Court on Friday 12 October 2018.
