Man Charged With Murder After Werrington Body Find

A man will face court charged after a womans body was found in Sydney's west on the weekend.

About 1.15pm on Sunday (15 June 2025), officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were called to Irwin Street, Werrington, after the body of a 47-year-old woman was located in bushland.

Police established a crime scene and local detectives – with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dowerin.

Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a man – also aged 47 – at a home on Powell Street, Hobartville, about 6pm yesterday (Monday 16 June 2025).

He was taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court today (Tuesday 17 June 2025).

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
