Man charged with murder of missing woman, NSW

A 19-year-old Wagga Wagga man has been arrested and charged with murder by detectives investigating the disappearance of Allecha Suzette Boyd from Wagga Wagga, NSW Police say.

Allecha, aged 27, was last seen in the township of Coolamon on the afternoon of Thursday 10 August 2017.

Strike Force Amias, comprising detectives attached to Wagga Wagga Local Area Command, was established to investigate Allecha’s disappearance with officers suspecting she had met foul play.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives attended a home at Gurwood Street about 5.20pm today (Tuesday 7 November 2017) and arrested a 19-year-old man.

A crime scene warrant was executed on the property with a loaded shortened rifle seized by police.

The man was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with murder, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without a permit, not keep prohibited firearm safe and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 8 November 2017).

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing with detectives working to locate Allecha’s body.

Detectives are appealing for any person with information to assist them to call Crime Stoppers.
