Man charged with numerous property theft and fraud offences in Cremorne

A man has been charged with numerous offences relating to property theft and fraud offences after his arrest at Cremorne yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 11am on Monday 29 May 2017, officers from Harbourside Local Area Command were called to an apartment block on Military Road after concerns were raised about two residents.

Upon arrival police located a man entering a taxi while his female companion had already left the area.

The man, two suitcases in his possession and an apartment were subsequently searched by the officers.

Police will allege that they located a large number of identity documents and cards in various names, pre paid cards, store gift vouchers, mail, keys and two EFTPOS machines.

The man was arrested and conveyed to North Sydney Police Station where he was later charged with stealing (x 3), possess identity information (x 2), goods in custody (x 3), fraud (x 2), malicious damage and driver licence altered calculated to deceive.

The 34-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court tomorrow.

Police continue with their inquiries into the matter and are attempting to identify and locate the woman.
