A man will face court today charged with alleged stalking and weapons related offences in Sydney's east.
On Thursday 3 July 2025, officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a 50-year-old woman was allegedly being stalked by a man not known to her.
Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 38-year-old man in Clovelly about 10.30am on Friday 4 July 2025.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located an improvised weapon in his possession.
He was taken to hospital for assessment.
About 4.40pm yesterday (Thursday 10 July 2025), the man was discharged from hospital into police custody.
He was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with,
- stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal) – four counts,
- use carriage service to menace/harass/offend,
- armed with intent commit indictable offence, and
- use etc offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before to Waverley Local Court later today (Friday 11 July 2025).
