Man detained after disturbance at Salisbury, SA

A man has been detained under the Mental Health Act after causing a disturbance at Salisbury this afternoon, according to SA Police.

Concerned members of the public rang police after witnessing the man acting strangely and yelling at the Salisbury Oval around 12.15pm on Monday 26 June. He then moved to the Stockade Tavern and Salisbury Interchange, before getting on a bus to Hollywood Plaza Shopping Centre, where the disturbance continued.

Police apprehended the man inside the shopping centre. He has been sedated and detained pending a mental health assessment. The detained man's identity is not yet confirmed.

Paramedics treated another man at the scene for soreness after he was allegedly punched by the suspect.

After the suspect has been medically cleared, police will interview him in relation to behavioural offences and minor assaults committed during the incident.
