Man dies after being hit by road train at Moama, NSW

Traffic diversions are in place following the death of a man after he was struck by a road train near the NSW-Victoria border this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the Cobb Highway at Moama (about 70km south of Deniliquin), about 3.15pm today, to find the man had died at the scene after sustaining severe head injuries.

It’s believed the man was aged in his late 20s.

The highway is closed while the scene is examined; diversions are in place and are expected to remain in place for some hours.

The driver of the truck has been taken to Deniliquin Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
