Man dies after being pulled from river near Dubbo, NSW

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after a man drowned in the Macquarie River near Dubbo at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 8pm on Saturday 3 February 2018, a 20-year-old man was located face down in the Macquarie River, near Strathmore Road, Benolong.

Police have been told the man had earlier been seen to dive into the river.

Friends commenced CPR until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived at the scene, however; he could not be revived.

Officers from Orana Mid Western District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
