Man dies after being pulled from water in Kingscliff

A man has died after being pulled from the water on the state’s north coast today, NSW Police say.

Just after 11am (Thursday 3 May 2018), emergency services were called to Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff, after reports a man had been found unconscious in the water.

The 78-year-old man was pulled from the water, and CPR was commenced until emergency services took over, but he was unable to be revived.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Police District commenced inquiries into the incident and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A post mortem will determine the cause of the man’s death.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
