A man has died after being struck by a car in the state's west.
About 3.45am today (Sunday 15 March 2026), emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway, near New Winton Road, Westdale, after reports a man was allegedly struck by a car.
Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and assisted the man before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.
He was treated at the scene and taken to Tamworth Base Hospital; however, he later died.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the car – a 62-year-old woman – was not injured and taken to Tamworth Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established which will be forensically examined by police.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
The Oxley Highway is closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
