Man Dies After Car Hits Tree At Portland

A man has died following a crash in the state's Central West this morning.

Emergency services were called to Portland Cullen Bullen Road, Portland, about 7.45am today (Wednesday 29 October 2025), following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District arrived to find the 85-year-old driver trapped after his car hit a tree.

Emergency services rendered assistance; however, he died at the scene.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with dashcam or information is urged to contact Lithgow Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
