Man Dies After Caravan Fire At Ungarie

A man has died following a caravan fire in the state's southwest.

About 12.00pm today (Friday 26 September 2025), emergency services were called to Mackrell Street, Ungarie, following reports of a caravan fire.

On arrival, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended and found a caravan well alight.

Rural Fire Service officers attended and extinguished the blaze.

A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, sustained severe burns. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.

The man died enroute to the hospital.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the incident.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
