A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the State's south last month.
About 6am on Thursday 19 February 2026, emergency services were called to Lachlan Valley Way, Kangiara about 26kms north of Yass, after reports of a crash.
Officers attached to the Hume Police District attended and found a car and fuel tanker had collided head on causing the tanker to roll onto its side and trapping both drivers.
The driver of the car - a 42-year-old man - was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to The Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the truck - a 52-year-old man - was treated at the scene before being taken to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
Today (Wednesday 4 March 2026), police were informed the 42-year-old man had died in hospital.
