Man Dies After Crash South Of Griffith

A man has died after a head-on crash about 10km south of Griffith yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Kidman Way, Hanwood, about 3.15pm (Tuesday 24 March 2026), after reports of a crash involving an SUV and a utility.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated the driver of SUV; however, he died at the scene.

The driver is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

The driver of the ute, a 43-year-old man, was treated for serious leg injuries and taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding of the crash commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
