Man dies after fight in Wollongong

Police are investigating the death of a man after being assaulted in Wollongong this morning, NSW Police say.

Just before 6am (Friday 4 May 2018), emergency services were called to Denison Street, Wollongong, after reports of a fight.

The man was found seriously injured and taken to Wollongong Hospital, however he died.

A crime scene has been established in Denison Street while officers from Wollongong Police Area Command commence inquiries.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area with Denison Street closed, between Crown and Robinson Streets.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
