Man Dies After House Fire - Yagoona

A man has died following a house fire in Sydney's south west.

Shortly after 1:30pm today (Friday 12 September 2025), emergency services were called to Sutherland Street, Yagoona, following reports of a fire.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended the scene and found a house well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the fire.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated an 86-year-old man for smoke inhalation. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A 60-year-old man was also treated by paramedics, however he died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
