Man dies after single-vehicle truck crash west of Cowra

A man has died after a single-vehicle truck crash in the state's Central West yesterday.

About 5.20pm (Saturday 23 March 2019), emergency services were called to the Mid-Western Highway, about 30km west of Grenfell, after reports a truck, carrying a load of gyprock hit a tree and caught fire.

The driver and sole occupant, a 43-year-old Kariong man, died at the scene.

Officers from The Hume Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
