Man dies and two men injured in single-vehicle crash at Gunnedah

A man has died, and two others suffered serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash in the state's north-east yesterday.

About 12.30am (Sunday 28 June 2020), emergency services were called to Quai Road, west of McDonald Road, Gunnedah, after reports a Mitsubishi Mirage lost control and left the roadway before rolling and coming to rest on its roof.

Two male passengers, both aged 23, were able to climb out and render assistance to the driver, a 28-year-old man.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended; however, the driver was declared deceased.

The passengers were both treated at the scene. One was taken to Gunnedah Hospital before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. The second was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner
