Man dies following crash in Epping

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner following a fatal crash between a car and a bus in Epping yesterday afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 4.10pm today, emergency services were called to Beecroft Road, near the M2 Motorway, following reports of a crash.

Initial investigations suggest a silver Toyota Corolla travelling south and a State Transit bus travelling north on Beecroft Road, crashed head-on.

The driver and only occupant of the Toyota was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he later died.

He is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged in his 30s.

The driver of the bus, a 44-year-old man, was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries, before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Beecroft Road was closed for a number of hours as investigations took place. It has since been re-opened.
