A man has died following an incident in Eltham on 23 March, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told the 81-year-old man had started walking across Main Road, north of Antoinette Boulevard, shortly after 2pm as a vehicle was approaching.
The driver slowed down and took evasive action to avoid hitting the man, however it is believed the pedestrian continued to walk and hit the side of the car before falling and striking his head.
The Eltham man was taken to hospital with head injuries and died in hospital on 30 March.
The driver, a 33-year-old Eltham woman, stopped at the scene and has spoken with police.
