Man dies following Tottenham collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Tottenham, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a male pedestrian was struck by a southbound utility on Frederick Street, near Amanda Road, about 6.20pm on Tuesday.

The man, a 46-year-old from Tottenham, was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died.

A dog was also struck by the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a 35-year-old Ardeer man, stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact cause of the incident is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
