Man Dies in Boat Capsize, Search Ongoing

A police operation is underway after a fatal boat crash near Sydney's Northern Beaches.

About 11.35am today (Wednesday 31 December 2025), emergency services were called at Palm Beach, following reports a boat had capsized in the vicinity of Barrenjoey Headland.

A man was pulled from the water by Surf Life Saving members and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A second man was able to climb onto rocks before he was rescued by the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter and is being treated by paramedics.

A search operation has commenced – with assistance from Marine Area Command, PolAir and Marine Rescue NSW – to locate a 14-year-old boy who may have been a passenger on the boat.
