Man dies in hospital after being found critically injured at Brookvale

A man has died in hospital after being found lying in the middle of a road suffering head injuries in Sydney's north yesterday.

Just before 2.30am (Tuesday 7 January 2020), emergency services were called to Victor Road, Brookvale, following reports a passing motorist found a man laying unresponsive on the road.

The 73-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial inquiries revealed the man had been at a local club and was injured after falling and striking his head on the roadway.

About 5.30pm (Tuesday 7 January 2019), investigators were notified the man died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
