Man dies in hospital after Strathmerton incident

A man has died in hospital following an incident in Strathmerton in August.

Emergency services were called to a service station on the Murray Valley Highway about 1.15am on 8 August.

A 73-year-old Strathmerton man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Local police charged a 42-year-old Numurkah man with recklessly cause serious injury.

He was remanded in custody and was subsequently bailed at Shepparton Magistrates' Court to next appear on 13 December.

Sadly, the 73-year-old man died in hospital on 28 October.

Homicide Squad detectives are now assisting with the investigation which remains ongoing.
