Man dies in house fire at Oberon

A man has died following a house fire in Oberon yesterday.

About 10.55am (Tuesday 7 June 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a house fire in Queen Street, Oberon – 45km south-east of Bathurst.

Fire and Rescue NSW officers entered the house and located the body of a 37-year-old man inside.

The fire was extinguished, but the house was destroyed.

Officers from Chifley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
