Man dies in motorcycle crash in Pyrmont

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred at Pyrmont this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after 7am (Monday 8 October 2018), a 29-year-old man was riding a motorcycle east on the Anzac Bridge when the rider lost control and was struck by a truck travelling in the same direction.

He died at the scene.

Police from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.

The 40-year-old truck driver was uninjured. He was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Three of four citybound lanes were closed for just under two hours as the scene was examined.

Officers have been told that the motorcycle may have collided with a vehicle, described as a white Holden Commodore utility, before he collided with the truck.

Police are appealing for the driver of this vehicle to come forward, and are appealing for any other witnesses, or anyone with dashcam vision that could assist the investigation, to also come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
