Man drags woman into Melbourne CBD alleyway

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a false imprisonment in Melbourne’s CBD on Sunday morning, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a 39-year-old woman was walking along Little Lonsdale Street when she was approached by an unknown man about 6.30am.

The male grabbed the woman and attempted to drag her towards Brights Place.

The woman managed to fight the male off and he was last seen on Healeys Lane running off towards Lonsdale Street.

The Melbourne woman was assessed on scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Police have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as being 182cm tall with a slim to muscular build, dark hair, olive complexion, unshaven and was wearing a light-coloured top with writing on the front, dark pants and dark shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
