Man escapes from correctional facility at Cessnock

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an inmate who escaped from a minimum security correctional facility at Cessnock.

Vaughan Grimston, age 30, was reported missing from the facility on Lindsay Street, Cessnock, about 11.15am today (Wednesday 15 April 2020).

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 170-180cm tall, with a medium build, brown hair and green eyes.

He has connections to the Central Coast and the Sydney metropolitan areas.

It's believed he may be travelling in a 2018 silver Hyundai Tucson with NSW-registration YGN-24A.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach the man, but to instead call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
