Man extradited and charged with historical sex offences, NSW

A man will face court today after being extradited from Queensland for an outstanding warrant relating to alleged historical sex offences, NSW Police say.

Following information received in March this year, police from Marrickville Local Area Command commenced an investigation into alleged sex offences from the 1980s.

Following inquiries, an arrest warrant was granted for a 70-year-old man to be extradited from Queensland in relation to the alleged offences.

today, the man was extradited back to New South Wales and was taken to Botany Bay Police Station.

He was charged with three counts of assault female and commit act of indecency and two counts of assault and commit act of indecency.

He was refused bail and will appear at Waverley Local Court tomorrow.
