Man extradited over robbery in Strathfield

A man has been extradited from Victoria in relation to the alleged robbery of a 95-year-old man in his home in Sydney’s Inner West last month, NSW Police say.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 19 July 2017, the man was entering his home in Strathfield when he was allegedly pushed through the front door and tied up.

Police will allege he was robbed then left in the home with his hands bound until he could free himself and call for help.

Following extensive inquiries, officers from Burwood Local Area Command applied for an arrest warrant for a 26-year-old Victorian man.

He was arrested by Victoria Police on Tuesday with NSW officers travelling to Melbourne to apply for the man’s extradition.

today, officers escorted the man to Sydney and took him to Botany Bay Police Station where he was charged with robbery in company, and aggravated commit serious indictable offence in dwelling (deprive liberty).

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow.

He is the third person to be charged over the incident, with two other men currently before the court.
