Man extradited to Tasmania to face child sexual abuse charge

Police are today extraditing a man from Queensland to Tasmania over a child sexual abuse charge.

Detectives from Northern Criminal Investigation Branch's Victims Unit have travelled to Townsville and are extraditing the 38-year-old man back to Tasmania.

The man is remanded in custody to appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court on 27 March 2023 on the charge of Persistent Sexual Abuse of a Young Person.

The charge relates to crimes allegedly committed between 2018 and 2022 in Tasmania.
