Man faces serious DV charges at Dubbo

A man has been charged with serious domestic violence offences in the state's west yesterday.

At 6.30pm (Monday 7 January 2020), a 36-year-old woman attended Dubbo Police Station to report alleged ongoing domestic violence.

Police were told that the woman has been continually harassed and threatened by her ex-partner.

Around 9.45pm, police attended a home on Bishop Street in Dubbo and arrested a 41-year-old man sitting inside a vehicle outside the property.

Officers searched the vehicle and located a machete, allegedly hidden on the seat, two knives, a tool box and written material.

The 41-year-old was charged with armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, five counts of stalking/Intimidation, two counts of use carriage service to menace and three counts of custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and appeared at court, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday 31 March 2020.
