Man found after search at Berowra Heights, NSW

Police believe they’ve found a man after residents at Berowra Heights heard someone calling for help early this morning, NSW Police say.

It was about 2.30am tomorrow, that residents of Wyanna Street, Berowra Heights, called police to report hearing a man calling for help.

Police from Kuring Gai Local Area Command and a Dog Unit attended the scene and began searching fire trails and tracks within the Berowra Valley National Park.

Due to the dangerous terrain, searchers were restricted to tracks until daylight.

A command post was established in Berkeley Close and additional resources were brought to assist including the Ambulance Special Operations Team, a rescue helicopter and PolAir.

About 8.20am a helicopter crew spotted a man in a remote area.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics and police are walking into the man.

Plans are now underway to retrieve the man, either on foot or by helicopter.

No one has been reported missing in the area and police have no information about the identity or condition of the man.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
