Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information after a man was found seriously injured on the side of the road in Melton West overnight following an alleged hit-run., Victoria Police say
Police were called to Westmelton Drive near Rathdowne Circuit following reports a man was injured about 1.10am.
The man was subsequently taken to hospital and a crime scene set up.
A short time later a man believed to have been involved in the collision called police and handed himself in.
The 22-year-old Melton South man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Westmelton Drive will be closed for some time while police process the scene.
