Man found with multiple gunshot wounds in Villawood

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Just after 6.15pm today, police and emergency services responded to reports of shots fired in a park at Lowana Street, Villawood


Upon arrival, officers located a man with multiple gunshot wounds to both legs.


He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial inquiries suggest this is a targeted attack.

Police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with their inquiries. He is described as being of Mediterranean / Middle Eastern appearance, 175-180cm tall, about 25 years old, with a black beard.

The man was last seen wearing dark hooded jumper and light coloured tracksuit pants and left the scene in a dark coloured station wagon.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
