A man has been charged after he was found with a shortened rifle, ammunition, and cash overnight in south west Sydney, NSW Police say.
Police from Liverpool Local Area Command were patrolling Sadleir Avenue, Sadleir, when they stopped a red Toyota sedan for the purpose of a random breath test around 1am tomorrow
Police searched the car and a 32-year old man, who was a passenger in the car.
During the search, police located a backpack, allegedly belonging to the man, which contained a shortened rifle.
The man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.
While at the police station, officers located cash in the man’s possession and four bullets and white power concealed internally.
He was charged with possession of a shortened firearm, posing ammunition, goods in custody and breaching his bail.
The man was bail refused to appear before Liverpool Local Court tomorrow
